On May 6, Xi Jinping held talks with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace in Paris. These talks will help China and France jointly deal with the new Cold War and the conflict between the blocs.
China’s foreign ministry quoted the Chinese leader as saying on Tuesday, “Both sides must defend independence and jointly prevent a new cold war or bloc confrontation.”

Xi Jinping said that both countries should work together for an equal and orderly multilateral world.
He also said that China is ready to maintain strategic relations with Paris, respect each other’s core interests, strengthen the strategic stability of bilateral relations, and open up great potential for mutually beneficial cooperation.
Xi Jinping’s European tour is May 5-10, he will visit France, Serbia, and Hungary.
