Princess Kate Middleton made her first public appearance after chemotherapy and broke a key royal rule. During an official visit to Southport, Prince William‘s wife showed unexpected emotionality.
Kate wore an elegant brown polka-dot dress with a matching coat for the event. While meeting families affected by a tragic shooting at a dance lesson dedicated to Taylor Swift‘s work, Kate hugged medics who helped victims.

This gesture violated royal protocol, according to The Sun.
Breaking with traditional etiquette that typically prohibits touching royals unless they initiate contact, Princess Kate embraced several of the emergency responders during the visit.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service’s Chief fire officer Phil Garrigan shared his experience, noting he had a “really lovely fleeting conversation” with the Royal couple following their discussions with the group of emergency personnel, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Meanwhile, reports suggest Prince William might ascend to throne due to King Charles III‘s health. However, plans changed after Kate’s diagnosis.
