Zendaya’s 51-year-old sister Latonya Coleman has accused the popular actress of being consumed by her celebrity status. In an interview with The Sun, Coleman expressed disappointment over her sister’s behavior claiming she feels like a mere fan when around her.
Coleman revealed that she has only seen Zendaya twice in the past seven years, and even those rare meetings felt distant. “When I tried to talk to her, she just gave me a one-arm hug. It felt like I was just a fan.” said Coleman.
She further claimed that while Zendaya maintains contact with the children of her other siblings her own grandchildren have never had the chance to meet the actress. “Zendaya is very active with my other sister and brother’s kids, but my grandkids don’t even know her. They think she’s just from the Disney Channel.” Coleman remarked.
Out of frustration, Coleman confessed that she no longer tells people Zendaya is her sister. “I don’t even tell people anymore that she’s my sister. I’m ashamed of my dad and how he raised us. I don’t want her money. I just want to be in her life, to show her that I love her and support her. Whatever I can contribute to her life, I would love to do it,” she lamented.

Coleman also shared her thoughts on Zendaya’s relationship with actor Tom Holland, revealing that Zendaya’s relatives approve of him. However, she found their pairing “odd” due to Zendaya being notably taller than Holland. Coleman also expressed doubt about being invited to their possible future wedding.
For context, Latonya Coleman is Zendaya’s paternal half-sister, sharing the same father, Kazembe Ajamu Coleman.
