Will Jennings, the lyricist behind the iconic song My Heart Will Go On from the movie Titanic, has passed away at the age of 80. Jennings died at his home in Tyler, Texas, after battling illness for several years.
He collaborated with renowned artists like Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Jimmy Buffett, and Rodney Crowell, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

Jennings most famous work, My Heart Will Go On, became the theme song for Titanic, the 1997 film directed by James Cameron. Canadian artist Celine Dion‘s song earned multiple awards, including an Oscar, a Golden Globe for Best Original Song, and four Grammy Awards. The album Let’s Talk About Love which featured the song, sold 31 million copies worldwide.
In his lifetime Jennings won two Oscars, three Grammys, and two Golden Globes.
Recently, My Heart Will Go On made headlines again when Celine Dion accused U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump of using the song illegally at one of his rallies. Additionally, on July 7, 2024, Jon Landau, the producer of Titanic and Avatar, passed away at age 63.
