The App Library was introduced by Apple alongside iOS 14 in 2020. This feature automatically organizes your apps into categories such as Social and Entertainment, keeping them out of sight from your home screen. It's important to note that the iPhone sorts these categories automatically, limiting your ability to manually rearrange them.

Here's a guide on how to hide apps from your iPhone's home screen and how to access the App Library:

Hiding apps on your iPhone:

  1. Long-press the app on your home screen until a menu appears.
  2. Select “Remove App.”
  3. Choose “Remove from Home Screen.”

Now, the app will be hidden from your home screen but remains accessible in your App Library. You can hide multiple apps quickly by following these steps:

  1. Long-press on an empty part of your home screen until the icons start to jiggle.
  2. Tap the minus symbol on an app you want to hide.
  3. Select “Remove from Home Screen.”
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each app you wish to hide, then tap “Done” in the top right corner.

To access your hidden apps:

  • Use the Spotlight search feature by tapping “Search” at the bottom of your home screen, then type the app's name in the search bar.
  • Swipe right on your home screen until you reach the App Library. Here, you can browse categories or use the search bar at the top.

If you want to add a hidden app back to your home screen, navigate to the App Library, long-press the app, and select “Add to Home Screen.”

Alternatively, if you prefer to organize your apps without hiding them, you can create folders on your home screen:

  1. Long-press an empty area on your home screen until the icons jiggle.
  2. Drag one app onto another to create a folder.
  3. Name the folder as desired.
  4. Drag more apps into the folder if needed, then tap “Done.”

Now, your apps are neatly organized on your home screen without being hidden in the App Library. This method allows you to have more control over your app arrangement, ensuring easy access to your favorite apps.
