Tragic End to Hiking Adventure: Experienced Hiker Found Dead at Waterfall Base! What Really Happened?

Experienced hiker Caroline Meister, aged 30, was found deceased at the base of a waterfall in Northern 's Ventana Wilderness after going missing during a hike. Monterey County Tina M. Nieto confirmed her discovery, stating foul play is not suspected.


Meister, known for her experience, disappeared on March 18 while hiking from Tassajara Zen Mountain Center, carrying only snacks and lacking overnight gear. Search teams, including the Monterey County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Team, conducted extensive searches.

Meister was last seen wearing teal boots with a blue bag and mentioned hiking the “Windcave Trail.” Her death's cause remains unconfirmed, though injuries suggest a fall. The Monterey County Sheriff's Office is yet to respond to inquiries.
