Selena Gomez’s mother, Mandy Teefey, shared in a new interview with Glamour that she gave birth to Selena when she was 16.
“It felt like we grew up together,” Mandy said. Today, she jokes about their small age gap. “We laugh, saying we’ll end up in nursing homes at the same time.”

Mandy mentioned how she worked hard to raise Selena with strong values while navigating life in the spotlight.
“Famous people are always being watched. They go through the same growing-up phases as other kids, but they face constant judgment,” she explained.
Selena’s mother, Mandy from Texas, and her father, Ricardo, Mexican. They split when Selena was five. Mandy often talked about working long hours to support her family.

She also has another daughter, 11-year-old Grace, from her marriage to Brian Teefey. Selena, now 32, recently revealed that she cannot have children and plans to adopt.
