Sources suggest Gomez initially put ring up for sale as part of a promotional campaign for her album, which she recorded with Blanco.

“For the first day of #12DaysOfReallyRareStuff, which is also a countdown to I Said I Love You First, it felt fitting to choose something that is a symbol of the start of our relationship,” the “Only Murders in the Building” star wrote on the listing.
Due to a website error, several fans were able to add the jewelry to their carts and complete purchases. The glitch eventually forced Gomez to issue an apology.
