Robert Downey Jr. showed support for his friend Johnny Depp at the “Pile of Stuff” art exhibition. He spotted visiting the exhibition the morning after its opening.
Although Downey Jr. missed the gala ceremony due to performing in the play “McNeil” on Broadway that evening, he took time to quietly view Depp’s art the next day.

After exploring the pieces, he left a heartfelt message in memorial book writing “Equal with awe” as reported by Page Six.
Depp’s artwork caught attention of many including artist Paul Gerben fashion stylist Phyllis Leibovitz, and producer Jerry Bruckheimer.
This exhibition marked Depp’s first deeply personal dive into his art. Visitors enjoyed not only his paintings but also props from films he starred in and quirky items from his art studio.

One highlight was Depp’s self-portrait humorously titled “Not the Most Comfortable Thing.”
Depp described “A Bunch of Stuff,” which is a display of his works from his early twenties to now, as “my sanctuary” in a statement. “These pieces, born of different stages of my journey are a residue of a life lived. Creation is not always a comfortable process, but for me, it’s a necessary one,” he said.
Recently, Depp dedicated several paintings to his ex-wife Vanessa Paradis, who inspired him to create works resembling Tarot cards.
