Robert De Niro publicly mocked US presidential candidate Donald Trump at the New York Film Festival, according to a report by Deadline.
During the premiere of the movie Megalopolis, De Niro stated that Trump wouldn’t be capable of producing such a film. The actor remarked that if Trump had made it, it wouldn’t have even been shown in theaters because it would be “insane.”
“He can’t do anything. He wants to destroy the country. He couldn’t have made this movie. He couldn’t make anything that has structure,” De Niro said.
Actor urged people not to vote for Donald Trump in upcoming elections.
Notably many celebrities have spoken out against Trump. For instance, singer Taylor Swift has criticized him, and several artists have banned Trump from using their music at his rallies.
Recently, the band White Stripes sued him for playing one of their tracks without permission.
