Over 65,000 people have signed a petition calling for “Liam’s Law” after the death of One Direction‘s Liam Payne. The law aims to protect artists’ mental health.
The proposed law would require regular mental health check-ups and have professionals on hand during artists’ work, along with ongoing support throughout their careers, according to The Daily Mail.

The petition, started anonymously by a fan on October 18, states: “The entertainment industry must take responsibility for its artists’ well-being. Issues like stress, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and even suicide are alarmingly high. Research shows artists are 2-3 times more likely to face these challenges than the general population.”
Last week former One Direction star tragically fell from the third floor of hotel in Buenos Aires. Hours later reports surfaced that Liam had been dropped by his record label.
