Richie Akiva, a prominent businessman and nightclub owner known for his close ties to actor Leonardo DiCaprio, faced arrest in New York City, according to Page Six.
Police stopped Akiva while he drove initially issuing a fine for tinted windows. Further checks revealed his driver’s license had been suspended due to an unpaid parking ticket. Discovery escalated the situation landing the entrepreneur in custody.
Authorities took Akiva to a police station charging him with driving without valid license and violating vehicle regulations.
“I was shocked to learn my license was suspended,” Akiva said. “But I’m confident this will resolve in my favor.”
