Nicolas Cage urged young people to resist the rise of artificial intelligence in acting, according to Deadline. Speaking at a Newport Beach film festival brunch, he advised young actors not to give in to studios pushing AI.
Cage emphasized that acting is “handwork,” requiring the actor’s personal involvement. “Acting in a film is a handmade process, organic, built from scratch. Studios want to alter your face, voice, lines, body language, and performance. Protect your instrument,” he said.

He stressed that acting comes “from the heart, from the imagination” — tools only actors have, but technology seeks to control.
Cage warned that while he hasn’t dealt with AI much yet, the new generation will face it more. “They call it EBDR. This tech wants to take control of your craft,” he concluded.
