Supermodel Naomi Campbell has been banned from doing charity work after allegations surfaced that she misused funds meant for the needy.
Campbell reportedly spent tens of thousands of dollars on luxury hotels spa treatments, personal security, and other personal expenses. Her colleague Bianca Hellmich, was also accused of receiving unauthorized payments from the charity.

The charity in question, Fashion for Relief, which Campbell founded in 2005 to support vulnerable communities, closed in March. An investigation by The Guardian revealed that only 8.5% of funds raised by the charity over last decade were actually used for charitable purposes.
The outlet reported, “The commission report, however, reveals that it did not immediately pay Save the Children €450,000 (£375,000) raised at a 2017 fundraising event. Fashion for Relief paid some of the funds, and the remaining money it owed – £147,000 – was eventually paid by Fashion for Relief’s interim managers in January 2023.”

A statement for Save the Children said: “Save the Children thanks the Charity Commission for its thorough inquiry into Fashion for Relief and enabling the payment of outstanding funds owed to the charity. Save the Children’s relationship with Fashion for Relief ended in 2018 and we have no plans to work with them in the future.”
