Model Mady Gio reportedly owes Italy 158 million euros and has moved to another country, according to the Daily Mail.
Model, 27, was accused of owing taxes to Italian authorities and had promised to pay while abroad. However, she left for Switzerland before settling the issue.
Tax authorities reviewed Mady’s lifestyle and found it didn’t match her reported income, leading them to report her for false declarations to the Busto Arsizio prosecutor’s office.
Mady upset by these accusations.
“I live in Switzerland now. I have always paid taxes in both Italy and Switzerland. I’ve read articles accusing me of tax evasion. My right to privacy and, above all, the principle of innocence until proven guilty, has been violated,” she said.
Her lawyer confirmed that they will challenge every accusation made against her.
