Meghan Markle’s request to Queen Elizabeth II to live in Buckingham Palace, bypassing Kate Middleton, has come to light.
According to royal expert Kinsey Schofield, Meghan wanted a residence in Buckingham Palace, hoping to be closer to Queen Elizabeth II and to have a higher status than Kate Middleton, who lived in Kensington Palace with Prince William.

From the start, relations between Meghan and Kate were not ideal. After Meghan’s wedding, things became more challenging for her as she realized she would have a lower position compared to Kate. This led Meghan to make what some saw as a “crazy” request to the Queen.
However, the request was denied, reportedly because it would invade the couple’s personal space. Kinsey added, “Meghan fixated on having things that were more royal and luxurious, driven by her rivalry with Middleton.”
