Liam Hemsworth, who replaced Henry Cavill for season four of The Witcher, shared why he took on the role during an interview on Kelly & Mark.
At the start, Liam mentioned that about ten years ago, he was a huge fan of the Witcher video games. “I haven’t watched the show or read the books, but I played the game, and it’s still one of the best games ever. Netflix reached out almost two years ago about replacing Henry, and I saw it as an amazing opportunity,” he said.

Before deciding, Hemsworth dove into the series and books to get a better understanding of The Witcher world.
He also gave some insight into filming: “We’ve been filming season four for about nine months now, with about three weeks left. We’ll return next year and film for another eight months.” This means season five filming will begin around March 2025 and wrap up by October.
In October 2022, Henry Cavill, the previous lead, announced he would leave after season three. Liam Hemsworth has since stepped into role of Geralt of Rivia and many fans are happy with his portrayal.
