Netflix has just dropped the trailer for its new romantic comedy, Lonely Planet, written and directed by Susannah Grant, best known for Erin Brockovich (2000) with Julia Roberts, 56.
The film, starring Oscar-winner Laura Dern, 57, and Liam Hemsworth, 34, is set to premiere on October 11.

Lonely Planet follows Catherine (Dern), a reclusive writer who heads to a retreat in Morocco, hoping to find inspiration to write again. While there, she meets a younger man (Hemsworth), and sparks fly, leading to a life-changing romance.
Laura Dern shared that she drawn to the film because it explores “identity and self-worth in relationships especially in intellectually stimulating literary world.” She added that the movie is not just about love, but also about finding someone who truly understands you.

“Katherine has spent her life dedicated to narrative and therefore [hasn’t spent] much time looking at deep truth within,” Dern told Netflix. “She is at a turning point in her life where she is looking for a softening and deeper understanding, and she finds it in a love story.”
The cast also includes Diana Silvers, Ben Youssef, Bellina Logan, 57, Gustav Dueckier Gies, and Dillon Lane.
