While Perry found the journey to space to be meaningful and transformative event she upset by the way it was turned into a media spectacle.

A source familiar with the situation revealed that singer did not approve of certain content shared publicly from inside the capsule—especially elements that tied the flight to her music tour.

“Close-up shots with a daisy, singing What a Wonderful World in zero gravity mentions of her tour setlist—it all now feels excessive to her,” insider said.

According to the source, Perry feels the focus shifted away from the significance of the space mission and toward creating a publicity stunt.

“Katy doesn’t regret going to space. It was a vital life experience for her. What she does regret is that it became a public show,” the source explained.
