Johnny Depp has once again stepped into the shoes of Captain Jack Sparrow, but this time, not for a blockbuster film but to bring joy to children battling serious illness.
Seven years after his last appearance as the beloved pirate in Pirates of the Caribbean, Depp proved that Captain Jack is as lively as ever. Actor made a special visit to the pediatric oncology department at Donostia University Hospital in San Sebastián, Spain.

Staying fully in character throughout the visit Depp aimed to keep the magic alive for his young fans, ensuring the experience felt like a real encounter with the infamous captain.
“They laughed and told each other stories, and he helped the children forget for a few minutes about the difficulties they were going through. It was a gift that brought joy to the patients, families, nurses, doctors and all the staff who worked in the department at the time. On behalf of all the staff of the Donostia University Hospital, we would like to express our endless gratitude to Johnny Depp for his time, his support and his energy. “He was a breath of fresh air for the entire department,” the doctors said in a statement. We’re not crying, we’re just feeling nostalgic!
