Jennifer Lopez reportedly concerned she may be dragged into the legal troubles currently surrounding her ex-boyfriend, P. Diddy (Sean Combs).
For those who may not remember, before Ben Affleck and other famous relationships, J. Lo dated P. Diddy in the late ’90s.
Even back then, Diddy was involved in several controversial incidents, not to mention being rumored to have connections to the murder of Tupac Shakur.
In 1999 during her relationship with the rapper they were both caught up in a high-profile scandal. Couple along with Diddy’s bodyguard Anthony “Wolf” Jones and rapper Moses “Shyne” Barrow, were involved in a nightclub shooting in New York which left three people injured. J. Lo and Diddy fled the scene with their security team but were later arrested after police found a gun in their vehicle.
Jennifer was released a few hours later, but Diddy, Jones, and Barrow faced charges. While Diddy and Jones were acquitted, Barrow was convicted and later deported after serving time in prison.
Now with P. Diddy’s current legal issues there are concerns that this old incident could be brought back into the spotlight.
A source told the Daily Mail, “Jennifer Lopez’s team is on high alert, preparing for any potential fallout if the 1999 shooting comes up again in connection to Diddy’s ongoing legal battles.”
The source added, “A lot of people in the industry are looking at Jennifer with suspicion since she was at the scene of the crime. Crisis talks have been held to figure out how she will respond if the case is brought back into the public eye.”
Another insider reassured that Lopez’s team is doing everything they can to ensure that Diddy’s negative reputation doesn’t affect her. “Everyone connected to Diddy will be scrutinized, but Jennifer has a strong team who is managing this situation closely. She doesn’t believe anything will go wrong, but she’s taking precautions.”
However, a third source suggests that Jennifer is deeply worried. “If the case is reopened, it could pull her into a situation she has been trying to leave behind for over 25 years. She’s already had a difficult year, and this is just reopening old wounds,” the insider shared.
