James Cameron, the renowned Canadian director behind The Terminator, has admitted that parts of his iconic film now make him cringe.
Despite its success, Cameron, now 70, is not entirely satisfied with how the 1984 film turned out.

In a recent interview with Empire Cameron shared his mixed feelings about the movie: “I look at it now, and there are parts that are quite cringey, and there are parts that show how well we did with the resources that we had.” While he’s proud of what they achieved, some dialogue, in particular, stands out as “cringey” to him.
At the time of The Terminator’s release, Cameron was only 29 and still early in his directing career. “I was a real snot,” he joked, reflecting on the youthful energy and ambition that fueled the project.
Despite the flaws he now sees Cameron still views the film as a significant accomplishment, especially considering the limited budget and resources they had.

The Terminator quickly became a box-office hit and propelled both Cameron and Arnold Schwarzenegger to international fame.
Today while Cameron’s career includes other groundbreaking films like Avatar and Titanic, The Terminator remains a beloved classic, even if its creator can’t help but wince at a few moments.
