Harvey Weinstein, an American producer currently serving prison time for sex crimes, appeared in court just ten days after undergoing heart surgery, according to The New York Times.
Weinstein who was in a wheelchair at the hearing, denied pleading guilty to new charges.

These new charges stem from an alleged sexual assault at Manhattan hotel in 2006.
Weinstein was first sentenced in 2020 to 23 years in prison for rape and forced oral sex in separate incidents. In February 2023 he was given an additional 16 years for raping actress Jane Doe.

Though his case was reviewed and the sentence was briefly overturned in the spring, he remains in prison.
On September 12, further charges were filed, but Weinstein was unable to attend that court session due to emergency heart surgery at Bellevue Hospital.
