According to sources, Paltrow, who dated Affleck from 1997 to 2000, has recently made efforts to rekindle a relationship with him.
The two share a connection through their children, as both Paltrow’s kids and Affleck’s daughter are set to attend Yale University.
An insider told In Touch that Paltrow, 51, doesn’t have any ill intentions and simply wants to connect with other parents of high-achieving children.
“Gwyneth is proud to be associated with the Ivy League,” the insider explained, adding that she uses every chance to boast about it.
She reportedly sent Affleck, 52, Yale-themed merchandise, including a “Dad of a Yale student” T-shirt. This gesture hasn’t gone unnoticed by her current husband, who is said to be uncomfortable with how close she seems to be getting to Affleck.

However, it seems Paltrow’s attempts to reconnect don’t come close to Affleck’s relationship with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner. Sources say that Affleck still has access to Garner‘s home, indicating a strong bond between them.
