Chester Bennington‘s mother, Susan Eubanks, has revealed that her son was allegedly threatened with being replaced while he was still in Linkin Park.
According to her Mike Shinoda, another key member of the band, had supposedly warned Chester that he might be replaced by a female vocalist.

Eubanks shared these claims in an interview with Rolling Stone, where she also expressed her dismay that Emily Armstrong had been invited to perform with the band.
Armstrong’s involvement with Linkin Park was seen by Eubanks as a betrayal. “They are desperately trying to erase the past. Armstrong is singing my son’s songs, and it’s shocking,” Eubanks said.
She further claimed that Shinoda had allegedly suggested Chester’s songs would sound better with a female voice, which led to his threats of replacing him with a soloist.

The band performed on September 5, marking their first concert since Chester’s tragic suicide on July 20, 2017. After his passing, the band took an extended break but did not officially announce a breakup.
Chester Bennington was loved for his powerful vocals and deep connection with fans, making these claims from his mother even more difficult for many to hear.
