Anora Dominates 97th Oscars: Wins Best Picture, Director, and More Amid Star-Studded Night

At the 97th Oscars, romantic comedy Anora stole show, winning five awards, including Best Picture and Best Director. Micky Madison clinched Best Actress, while Adrian Brody took home Best Actor.

Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre lit up as hosts Cannon and Brian kept the glamorous event lively. Stars like Demi and Ariana Grande dazzled on the red carpet. Anora, a top favorite with 13 nominations, secured five wins. Sean Baker won Best Director, and Madison, at 29 became youngest Best Actress winner since 2003. At 51, she claimed her second golden trophy for her role in Brutalist.

Kieran Culkin won Best Supporting Actor for Emilia, while Joy Saldana earned Best Supporting Actress for Perez. Brazil’s I Am Still won Best International Film.

Ceremony honored James Bond series and paid tribute to cinema’s legacy since 1929. A highlight the documentary Noah’s Otherland, shedding light on Israel’s aggression in Palestine. Filmmakers Yuval Abraham and Vessel Azra highlighted West Bank destruction, calling for Gaza ceasefire and prisoner release.
