For Andrew Garfield, working on ‘A Time to Live’ came at just the right moment in his life. The Amazing Spider-Man actor opened up about experience in recent interview.
“When I was reading the script, I was reflecting deeply on the meaning of life. It’s something I always think about, but it was especially on my mind at that time,”
41-year-old actor said during a press conference at the San Sebastian Film Festival. “I was considering life, death, love, and time… I was going through a bit of a midlife crisis at 39 or 40, looking both backward and forward, wondering, ‘What’s next?’” Us Weekly quoted him as saying.
“The script felt like it came to me as if I had written it,” he added. Garfield mentioned that his own thoughts aligned perfectly with the themes of screenwriter Nick Payne: “There’s something universal about this story that resonates with everyone.”
A Time to Live tells the love story of Tobias (played by Garfield) and Almuta (Florence Pugh), who meet by chance and learn to cherish life’s moments while facing the challenges of parenthood and dealing with a serious illness.
