ABBA has taken action against the unauthorized use of their music in Donald Trump‘s election campaign. The Swedish band, known for hits like “The Winner Takes It All” and “Money, Money, Money,” responded after their songs were played at a rally in St. Cloud without permission. This was reported by the EW.
The record company Universal Music Group issued a statement clarifying that Trump’s team did not officially request the right to use ABBA’s music at their events. “Together with the members of ABBA, we have demanded that such use be stopped immediately,” the company declared.

“Together with the members of ABBA, we have discovered that videos have been released where ABBA’s music has been used at Trump events,” the label shared with Entertainment Weekly. “We have therefore requested that such use be immediately removed and taken down. Universal Music Publishing AB and Polar Music International AB have not received any request, so no permission or license has been granted to Trump, 78.”
Forbes Middle East writes on their X account, “Swedish pop group ABBA asked former US President Donald Trump to not play its music at his rallies anymore.”
By the way, ABBA isn’t the first to ban Trump from using their music in his election campaign. Celine Dion and The Rolling Stones have also voiced similar complaints in the past.
