Ashanti is going to be a mother at the age of 43 and she revealed the fact on Instagram and her fans commented a lot on this matter.
On April 17, Ashanti and Nelly announced they were expecting a child. Ten years ago, the two of them were separated.

Ashanti revealed the pregnancy status to everyone on her Instagram on Wednesday, April 17th. Their breakup happened 10 years ago, but they reunited again seven months ago. Their love grows as before. She made this new announcement seven months after getting into a new relationship.
As Ashanti prepares for one of her performances, her mother asks her how much more time do you need to get ready. She told his mother in reply “Um, it will take me about nine months,” she replied, to her mother’s shocked expression. The post is captioned with a “Baby baby baby baby…”.

“Motherhood is something I have been looking forward to, and sharing this with my family, my fiancé, and my loyal fans, who have been so supportive of my career, is an incredible experience,” she said.

The couple remained together for almost ten years, before splitting in 2013. In September, Nelly confirmed that he was back with Ashanti, during an appearance on the show “Boss Moves with Rasheeda.”
“I think it surprised both of us. It wasn’t something that was, I don’t think, planned (…) But sometimes, being separated, we understand each other better,” he explained.
